Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Department. He was
born on 1 st April, 1984 at Lwafu village of Mokwa Local Government, Niger State.
He attended Bokani Primary School from 1991 to 1996 and Government
Secondary School Bokani from 1997 to 2002 and thereafter proceeded to Niger
State College of Education from 2002 to 2005. He attended University of Ilorin
from 2008 to 2011 for his undergraduate studies and graduated with B.Sc(Ed)
Mathematics, Second Class honour (Upper Division). He obtained M.Sc.
Mathematics (Optimization) from the Same University in 2014. He further
Obtained PhD in Mathematics (optimization) in 2018 from Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM).
He joined the Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State as Assistant Lecturer in
Mathematics Department in May 2014 and currently a Senior Lecturer in the
Department.
He is teaching Mathematics at both undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in the
Department. He supervised many undergraduate students’ projects. He supervised
successfully MSc. student on thesis and some ongoing. His research interest
includes Optimization with an emphasis on Conjugate Gradient Methods,
Transportation Problems, Assignment problems, Linear regressions, Fluid
dynamics, and Modeling.

He has over twenty (20) scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals in both
international and national. He also attended workshops and conferences. He
presented academic papers during conferences in Asia and at home. He is a peer
Reviewer of MATEMATIKA: Malaysian Journal of Industrial and Applied
Mathematics, Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN) journal.
He is a member of the Mathematical Society of Nigeria (NMS), Mathematics
Association of Nigeria (MAN), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
He served in various capacities such as Deputy Dean of Students Affairs from 2020 to
date, Level Coordinator from 2019 to 2023, and member of many committees both at
level Department and Faculty levels. Currently, Head of the Mathematics Department.
He is Happily married with children.
