Dr. Yakubu Sadau Ph.D. was born in 1968, in Kafin Maiyaki (Kwanar- Dangora) town, Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria. After primary and junior secondary school education at Kafin Maiyaki respectively, proceeded to Science Secondary School Dawakin-Kudu in 1986 and obtained WASCE in 1989.
Dr. Yakubu Sadau obtained his B.Sc, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Human Physiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1997, 2008, and 2015 respectively. After the NYSC in Ekiti State in 1998 started my working career with the Kano State Science and Technical School Board where I was posted to Dawakin- Kudu Science College 2001-2003 After that transferred to the Kano State Ministry of Health in 2003. I was posted to the School of Nursing Kano to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology from 2003-2010. I joined Gombe State University where I started as a graduate assistant in 2010 and rose to the rank of an Associate Professor of Physiology in 2020. I Served as Dean Faculty of Basic and Allied Health Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, Gombe State University 2016-2021. Also was Head of the Human Physiology Department Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State as a sabbatical staff 2019 to 2020 finally transferred my service to Federal University Dutse in 2021 and holding Head of Department Human Physiology FUD currently as of April 2023. Yakubu attended several local and international conferences and publications in local and international journals. His research interest covers gastrointestinal and endocrine physiology.

History
The Federal University Dutse (FUD), received its charter from the Federal Government of Nigeria on February 9, 2011. The University is located in the capital city of Jigawa State, Dutse, an ancient town in north-western Nigeria, with easy access to major metropolitan areas such as Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, and Kaduna. In view of the urgent need to commence the medical program, approval for the establishment of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, with Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Biochemistry in it was given. Following the senate’s approval, efforts were made to put the necessary physical structure in place. In addition to this, arrangements were made to procure all the necessary equipment and to employ relevant staff.
Vision
The Department hoped to be the heart of the Physiology training Department in the North West region, Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Physiology is to provide the necessary training for Medical, Dental and Paramedical students to be among the best in the world, and to provide adequate trained manpower and resources available to trained undergraduate and postgraduate.
Admission requirements
- Credit passes in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with appropriate UTME Score.
- Advance Level passes in Chemistry, Physics (or Mathematics), and Biology (Zoology) with five credits in ordinary level, including English and Mathematics for DE students.
- Diploma in Laboratory Science (Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Chemical Pathology) at credit level for DE students.
Any other relevant qualification as may be determined by the University
