Dr. Sunusi Mustapha was born on August 02, 1984, in Kofar Fada quarters in the present-day Dawakin Tofa Local Government of Kano State. Growing up in a supportive and academically inclined family, Sunusi showed an early aptitude for learning and exploration. He was curious about the world around him and exhibited a particular interest in understanding human behaviour and societal structures from a young age.
Sunusi excelled in his studies throughout his academic journey. He attended Gwale Special Primary School and Government College Birnin Kudu. After graduating from high school with a good grade young Sunusi proceeded to university where he pursued a Bachelor of Agriculture in Crop Science.
Inspired by his lecturers and his passion for research, Sunusi decided to continue his academic pursuits. He went on to obtain a Master of Science degree at the prestigious Agricultural University of Shenyang in China.
With a thirst for knowledge and a desire to make meaningful contributions to his field, Sunusi embarked on the journey towards a Doctorate of Philosophy. He chose to specialize in Crop Genetics and Breeding, focusing on gene mapping and cloning research of cereal crops to understand the mechanisms regulating grain shape and grain quality.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Sunusi is an avid traveler and nature enthusiast. He finds solace in hiking through scenic landscapes and immersing himself in different cultures. Sunusi is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of scholars, providing guidance and support to students from diverse backgrounds. He remains dedicated to his academic pursuits, continually seeking new avenues for exploration and discovery.
