Sunusi Sa’ad Ahmad is a teacher with the Federal University Dutse (FUD), Nigeria. He has been involved in teaching both undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Accounting since 2008. Born at Jigirya Nassarawa LGA, Kano State in 1978; he obtained National Diploma in Business Studies, B.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. Oil and Gas Accounting and Ph.D. Oil and Gas Accounting from Kano State Polytechnic, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Glasgow Caledonian University and University of Abertay Dundee, respectively.
Sunusi’s M.Sc. Dissertation focused on environmental sustainability issues of energy companies and how best to manage such environmental issues. Similarly, his Ph.D. Thesis focused on the thin line between Government control and performance of energy companies.
Sunusi started his career in the Banking industry where he worked with both Standard Trust and Guaranty Trust Banks. Later, he joined Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) in 2008, where he rose from Graduate Assistant to Lecturer I in 2016. In 2018, he transferred his service to Federal University Dutse as a Senior Lecturer. Same year, he was appointed as the substantive and pioneer Head of Accounting Department.
Sunusi supervised more than 20 post-graduate students, published more than 30 academic articles in reputable national and international peer reviewed journals. He is a member of International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE), British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and other professional bodies. He attended many conferences, workshops and trainings in different parts of the world.
Sunusi is happily married to Zulfatu and blessed with children - Khadija, Fatima and Muhammad.
